Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Botanical oasis in the heart of BK. Our favorite time to go is an hour or so before the garden closes for the evening- the crowds have died down the the light is magic
F&F Pizzeria
New Haven-style pizza in the heart of Carroll Gardens, a favorite of Lucy and Chris; get a slice of partana!
Sunny's
Cash-only neighborhood dive bar. Get a 'Ganset and listen to live music.
Ugly Baby
Some of the best Thai food in all of Brooklyn, get a sour beer and prepare to cry.
Gold Star Beer Counter
Our favorite beer counter in our old neighborhood. Have a pint and listen to some tunes on vinyl. See if you can spot one of our 45 plants that found its permanent home here when we moved.

Weather Up
Classy cocktail bar with adventurous drinks. Some of our favorite cocktails have been poured here.
L'Appartement 4F
Best croissant. Grab one (or two or three) and stroll along the brooklyn heights promenade for some skyline views.
R&D Foods
Grab a KSS egg (Kale Salad Sandwich with an egg) on any weekend day and enjoy Vanderbilt Open Streets. Also recommend ham and cheese or the tofu banh mi. Skip the chicken satay.
Wild East Brewing Co.
If you’re going brewery hopping in Gowanus, Wild East is a must go. Drink some wild fermented beers and play board games with friends.
Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe
Our corner bagel shop. You can’t go wrong with any bagel shop in nyc, but this one is home to the za’tar bagel and mediocre iced coffee that rivals Dunkins. Lucy’s go to order - sesame bagel with cucumber dill cream cheese.
Grand Army Plaza
The entrance to Prospect Park where we spent most of our evenings and weekends. Stroll through here into the park and experience Brooklyn’s best people watching and nature.
Prospect Park Dog Beach
Watch dogs swim. I don't think there's anything else to say.
King David Tacos
Very good breakfast tacos. Grab a BPEC if you are a bacon, egg, and cheese lover or opt for the No. 5 for a vegan delight.
Brooklyn Museum
Some arts and culture right in our own BK backyard. Donation based entry to the iconic permanent collections. Grab a Mister Softee on your way out and sit on the steps of the museum.
Row Boat Rental
Whether you’re visiting NYC for the first time or 100th time, rowing boats in Central Park is a romantic NYC moment you won’t want to miss out on.
Montero Bar & Grill
