All the way back in 2021, Carter attended his freshman year with some of Lucy's cousins at BYU. She had heard his name a couple of times in passing but never knew who he was. Fast forward to 2022, Carter got called to serve with Lucy's brother Caleb in the Baton-Rouge, Louisiana Mission for the LDS Church. Lucy heard this and later saw a picture of him next to her brother on facebook. She couldn't believe how cute he was so she friended him on facebook and screen shotted the picture. Throughout the next couple years she would see random posts of his, but not very many. She didn't think too much about him until January of 2024 when she saw him walking in to the BYU library. She was sitting next to her brother and told him she thought Carter was so cute and that he should introduce them. Caleb waved Carter over and introduced them and then proceeded to say he needed to leave for class and that Carter should take his seat next to Lucy (he did not need to leave for class but did anyways because he wanted to let Carter sit next to Lucy. 10/10 brother move right there). The two of them kept seeing each other in the library and would talk and sit together. Lucy was just waiting for him to ask her out and Carter was just waiting for her brother to set them up. Carter and Caleb texted a few times about it and finally, a few weeks later, they set up a double date with Lucy and her friend. The first date rolled around and Lucy was so excited. She was waiting in her room with her roommate, freaking out, when Carter called and said he was there to pick her up. Let it be noted he would've come to the door but did not have building access. They went with Caleb and Lucy's friend Sydney to Ice Skate and proceeded to get in n out afterwards. They both had so much fun. Lucy cancelled 4 dates after that first date because she was so excited about him. Carter didn't ask anyone else out or follow up with anyone for second dates because he was also so excited about her. The first kiss happened on their second date! They were at rock canyon park attempting to ice block. They ended up sitting there talking for a while and he leaned in and kissed her! After that they went out for a few more weeks and started officially dating March 11th. Once the semester ended Carter left to do sales and Lucy went home to California. They continued to date and traveled to see each other a few times. Fast forward again to February 26th, 2025 when Carter popped the question! It was the best day of their lives. They went on a date up to tibble fork, where Carter had previously gone to scope it out, and as they walked around the edge, Carter got down on his knee and asked Lucy to marry him. There was so much excitement, happiness, and love! Since then they’ve been in school, working, planning the wedding, and having so much fun being engaged! Can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!
