Let's Get Married

Let’s set the scene. It’s the summer of 2017 in South Bend, Indiana. Both Adam and Lucy were spending the summer conducting research and taking extra courses before their senior year at Notre Dame (ironically Lucy was studying the Theology of Marriage at the time). Brought together one night by mutual friends Barnes and Kat, Adam and Lucy met at trivia off-campus. Distracted by the game and drunk shenanigans, they barely spoke to each other that night. However, one thing was certain: both left the bar entirely infatuated with the other. 

“He looks like Taylor Swift’s brother. I am going to marry him,” Lucy said to her friend Kat. 

“She is so cool. We have to invite her over for waffles tomorrow,” Adam said to his friend Barnes. 

Despite the clear misalignment in what was a realistic outcome (marriage vs. waffles??) the two quickly found an excuse to see each other again and it was the start of their 6+ year relationship.
