FAQs

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Help us get the party started right on schedule and arrive at the ceremony no later than 4:45pm for a 5pm start.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes. We completely understand that for many of you, this is a big trip (even international for some!) and that finding childcare while traveling isn’t always easy. Some of you may even be turning our wedding into a family adventure — and we love that! While we think you’ll have an easier time enjoying the celebration if you’re able to leave little ones with grandparents or a sitter, please know that children are absolutely welcome if you’d like to bring them along 😉

Question

What food will we be serving?

Answer

We will have a vegetarian only menu, if you have another dietary restriction please reach out to Maxann or Benjamin ASAP.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! The Inn by the Sea in La Jolla is only a 5 minute walk from the ceremony & reception.

Question

Should we rent a car?

Answer

It's not necessary! If you choose to stay at the recommended hotel, you will be within a 5 minute walk to the wedding day festivities! La Jolla is very walkable and you can access everything you need, from great restaurants, grocery stores, beaches and awesome spots for viewing the 4th of July show. La Jolla is approximately a 30 min uber ride costing around $40 from SAN International Airport.

Question

What's the weather usually like?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception are outdoors. San Diego in July is usually a warm & sunny 72 degrees, but it can get quite chilly once the sun goes down!

Question

What's the parking situation?

Answer

La Jolla has free two hour street parking until 6pm, but it may be crowded so plan ahead!

Question

What about gifts?

Answer

We know and appreciate how far and wide many of you are traveling to be with us, your presence is the real present. Seriously, we mean it – no gift required! If you do feel so generously inclined please do not bring anything with you to the wedding itself, and use the registry here.
