In October of 2019, we met through friends and immediately bonded over our shared love for music and food. We began officially dating the following February of 2020. Not long after, the pandemic hit and showed us that we truly had something special. We added Benny, an Australian Shepherd, to our little family and made Mr. Lew, our cat, a big brother. Life was perfect. But then, in October of 2021, Sarah received difficult news from her father. Cancer had taken over and the outcome looked bleak. Her father fought hard but the cancer had spread too much. In late January of 2022, Alec's Father had a heart attack. Our world was knocked out of orbit. Then in February, both of our dads passed, 15 hours apart. Life changed for us drastically in a matter of hours but we knew that the only thing we could do was be there for each other through every difficult minute of this season of life. We made it through as a team and continue to lean into each other. We decided to spend the year living life as best we could, which meant traveling and exploring the world. We booked a trip to Alaska in September of 2022. There we planned a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier to go dog sledding. Alec proposed in an Alaskan paradise surrounded by mountains, clouds, and snow. A new season of life is going to begin and we can not wait for our next adventure as a married couple.
