True to their modern romance, Dipika and Lucie met in October 2022 on the dating app Hinge. Their first date was supposed to be a walk around Prospect Park, but a rainy forecast led them to enjoy an afternoon talking over coffee and pastries at one of Brooklyn's sweetest cafes, Hibiscus Brew, indulging in Dipika's favorite treats from the bakery Bien Cuit. Before the date was over, they had made plans to see each other again. They very rationally agreed to pursue a romance slowly and cautiously, and then promptly fell headfirst in love despite themselves. In the years since, Dipika and Lucie have tenderly built a life together, traveling to visit loved ones and to explore the world. They cherish being each other's adventure companion, whether the adventure is paragliding in Switzerland, horseback riding in Tuscany, or simply journeying through the quiet, ordinary days that make up a life. In September 2024, they moved into their Astoria, Queens, apartment where they fill their home with delicious home-cooked meals and tend to a rooftop garden. A year after moving in together, in September 2025, Dipika and Lucie finally had that date in Prospect Park. Over Bien Cuit pastries and Hibiscus Brew coffee, Dipika proposed to Lucie next to the Prospect Park lake on a perfect early Fall day. They can't wait to get married in September 2026 and celebrate with family and friends!
