It was a Friday night during the summer of 2019. Dean had asked if I wanted to go to dinner out east at Dockers Waterside, my cousins work there and it has always been our go to for date night in the summer. I was already settled in for the night in my comfy clothes and watching One Tree Hill on Netflix, needless to say I didn’t feel like getting ready to go out. It was already 7:30pm and Dean kept insisting we go out to dinner. As I mentioned, totally not in the mood nor ready to go out to dinner, but I conceded and got ready. The ride out there was not any different than it normally would be. We got to the restaurant and as any typical person would do, I locked the doors and we headed to the bar. What I didn’t realize is that my cousin, who does not work there, managed to go unnoticed and get my keys out of my purse. I had no clue what was going on around me, she got the ring for Dean out of my car and slipped the keys and ring back into my purse (still unnoticed). Dean took it upon himself to then take the ring out of my purse while I still wasn’t paying attention. We always like to go down to the docks at sunset when we go to dinner at Dockers and that night was no different. Although the sun had already set because I pushed back about wanting to go to dinner, we headed down to the docks hand in hand. That’s when I finally noticed it ... a table set on the docks with a bottle of champagne and two glasses. I thought to myself ... this is really happening. Dean got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES and behind us the staff and customers cheered us on as we kissed under the moonlight at “our place at our spot.”
