How we met

At first tune, we fell in love!

Eunice worked at a restaurant and Lucho's band was hired to play. She was given orders to keep giving the band drinks because the more they drink, the longer they play. Lucho refused to be served by her, but at rain fall he finally decided to make a move. He invited her to his next show and she blew the invitation off and got back to work. Days later she coincidentally passed by a bar and heard "that voice" - it was Lucho's band. She walked in, bought him a drink, gave it to him while on stage and walked out. The next day Lucho returned to the restaurant where she worked to return the kind gesture, but he was notified that she went back to Chicago. He reached out to people she knew and finally got her number. He facetime'd her immediately and invited her on a date. Six weeks later after talking on the phone everyday for hours, they were finally reunited and have been inseparable ever since.

When he knew

Right place at the right time

While visiting South Africa, Lucho finally had an opportunity to spend quality time (11 days) with Eunie's family and everything began to feel like it was aligning. On a beautiful Saturday morning Lucho and Eunie's parents visited a market. There in the market, the sounds and colors of Cape Town’s market made Lucho notice that "blue stone" on a store display. This color symbolizes the depth of one of their favorite places - the ocean. Overcome with emotion, reflecting on what it would mean to be apart of this beautiful family & have the love of his life forever - in an instant Lucho chose the ring and asked for Eunie’s parents permission to propose to her. Pastor said, "Yes!" It was a powerful moment and one he would never forget.
