When Lucas and Vanessa were only eighteen years old, they joined a college church ministry program in Roseville, California. Upon starting, the two met through a couple of mutual friends. It didn't take long for Lucas and Vanessa to realize they had very similar interests, aspirations, and humor. They spent their time as newfound friends studying the Bible, thrifting, and drinking an absurd amount of coffee. However, what made their friendship so special was that Lucas pursued Vanessa almost immediately upon getting to know her. Although she and Lucas both thought they wouldn't date for a long time, Vanessa couldn't help but realize she was falling for Lucas as well. While the two were entirely oblivious to the other's interest, it was extremely obvious to everyone else. So Lucas and Vanessa spent a month getting to know one another, talking about their lives and sharing their testimonies on how they came to know Christ. The majority of their quality time was spent in the same tiny, worn down IHOP booth whilst the two drank way too much coffee. Finally, after a good deal of persistency, Lucas asked Vanessa's father for permission to date her on September 27, 2022. Since then, the couple has continued to pursue one another and fall hopelessly in love. They have grown as individuals all the while hand in hand with Christ in the center. They have been blessed by the Lord with such the gracious gift of love and a lifelong best friend. Their prayer is that they continue to steward this gift well as they become one flesh through Christ. They ask that all of their loved ones be kind enough to cover them in prayer as they embark on this life-long journey and covenant with one another. They are filled with joy because of what the Lord has already done for them, and because of this, they are vowing to let everything they do bring glory to God alone.
