We met in Sydney, Australia at the end of 2019. Jacob traveled from Hawaii while Lucas arrived from London after completing his Bachelor’s degree. Lucas trained Jacob at the hostel where we were both volunteering and sharing the same dorm with other travelers. From our first date at an Italian restaurant to attending a show at the Sydney Opera House, we decided to travel together throughout Australia and southeast Asia for the next couple months before facing a quarantine in Malaysia for more than two months due to Covid-19. It was then that our relationship blossomed into something more.

After spending some time in our respective home countries, we decided to legalize our union in the south of France during June of 2022. As of now, we are both still flying to see each other in order to make more memories together (Thanksgiving in the United States, Christmas in Europe, etc.). In the meantime, our case is being reviewed by US immigration so that we’ll be allowed to permanently live in the USA and start our life together.
