FAQs

Question

Why are you getting married in Madrid?

Answer

Good question! We have always dreamt of having a destination wedding. Madrid is actually where we met while each of us was studying abroad in Spain in the Spring of 2016 (Lucas in Madrid, Camila in Barcelona). We clearly did not have the best judgment at that time, as that was not when we started dating.

Question

When should I arrive in Madrid?

Answer

If you plan to join us for the Welcome Party on Friday night (9/25/2026), we recommend arriving to Madrid by Friday morning, to allow enough time to comfortably get settled (and maybe take a nap) before the party begins.

Question

Are there any travel requirements to travel to Spain?

Answer

U.S. Citizens and Colombian Citizens typically do not need a tourism visa if your stay is shorter than 90 days. EU Citizens do not need a tourism visa. From any other countries, please check travel requirements. Please be aware of your country’s passport requirement (i.e., must be valid for 3 months beyond the planned departure date).

Question

Do you have any hotel blocks?

Answer

Yes! Check out the "Hotel & Travel" tab.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Sunday's ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception will alternate from indoor and outdoor spaces.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Black tie optional: Men in black (suits or tuxedos) Ladies in color (long, fun dresses!)

Question

Are you providing transportation to the venue?

Answer

Of course. The venue is approximately 30 minutes outside of the city. We will have shuttles picking up guest at the Hotel Hospes Puerta de Alcala (making stops at the other suggested hotels) to take guests to the Ceremony & Reception. Shuttles will depart to the venue at approximately 3:30pm. Shuttles will return to the city at approximately 11:00pm and 1:00am. *Precise locations and timing to come*

Question

Can I bring my kids to the wedding?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this will be an adult-only wedding.

Question

I have a dietary restriction. What do I do?

Answer

Don't worry, we are well-versed in dietary restrictions. Please let us know when you RSVP.

Question

Question

I've never been to Madrid. Anything I should know?

Answer

The currency is the Euro. The main language is Spanish, but you can get easily get around with English (and Italian!). The people are nice. The city is safe. The food is good. Dinner times are late (don't worry though, our reception dinner timing is U.S. style).
