Luke and Amanda met in July of 2017, where they talked for a few weeks online before Amanda decided Luke passed her background checks and she would allow him to take her on a date. Amanda was gearing up to leave town for nine days for her annual camping trip in the Adirondacks with her family when Luke insisted they meet for a date before she left. She obliged him with a quick meet up for drinks and as it turned out, there was immediate chemistry. The next couple days they couldn't stop thinking about each other and the instant connection they had, so Luke tried to find ways he could sneak in a real date. Amanda mentioned she was going to her family camp and takes the jetski on the lake and offered to have Luke spend the day with her on the lake. He jumped at the chance and immediately they were packing the car for a day at the lake. Once at the lake Amanda brought Luke around the area on the jetski, showing him where she would spend most of her summers. After a fun filled day on the water, it was starting to get late so they decided it would be best to head back. The two were having a good time talking and riding the jetski back and before they knew it, the fuel was low and they had gone the wrong way on the lake, back to the launch. Amanda had to turn around and right when she got back to the middle of the lake, the jetski ran out of fuel. It was now almost dark and Amanda realized the only way she could get back to the boat launch was if she called her family to come get her. In the meantime Luke and Amanda sat stranded on the lake for over an hour before her dad, uncle and cousins came to their rescue. It was then she was awkwardly obligated to introduce her family to Luke on their first real date. Amanda knew Luke would be someone special from the moment she got them stranded on the lake. *Fun Fact...The wedding takes place across from the site where they sat stranded on the lake exactly 2 years prior!

Luke and Amanda were packing up their motorcycles in the early morning of May 24, 2018 to head down to Washington, DC for the Rolling Thunder Bike Rally. Luke was getting Amanda's bike situated when he worriedly called her over telling her he thought her bike had an oil leak. He got down on his knee to point out where he was drawing her attention and had pulled out a ring. Luke had prepared a speech and set the home security cameras up to record the whole event. After he got done professing his love to her and asking her to marry him, Amanda still barely awake to understand what was going on, was still hung up on the fact her bike potentially had an oil leak before they were about to go on a long bike trip. Instead of responding to his proposal, she asked if her bike was ok and then moments later realized what he had just done and excitedly answered with a big "YES!"
