**JULY 18 UPDATE: Due to an impending labor strike, we have had to move the block of guests originally staying at the Westin Bayshore to the nearby Fairmont Waterfront. There will be no difference in rate for our guests, and no action needed for those who booked within the block (aside from providing a credit card upon check-in at the new hotel). If you booked the Westin Bayshore outside your block, we have booked you at the Fairmont Waterfront, but you need to cancel your stay at the Westin Bayshore. Please reach out if you are staying at the Westin Bayshore but have not heard from us!** Many of the weekend's events (aside from the wedding itself) will be located around the Fairmont Waterfront. It is a 15-minute walk away from the dock for our welcome party on water and has a late-night bar for gathering post-festivities, and we will have shuttles to/from the wedding here and host a low-key afterparty following the wedding.
Hotel
Feeling bougie? The Fairmont Pac Rim is one of the nicest hotels in town (and a favorite of Char and Steve's — IYKYK), so if you're going all out, this is the place to do it. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Westin Bayshore (15 in heels), and has an amazing spa if that's your thing. We do not have a room block at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.
Hotel
Close to the Vancouver Harbor and also about a 10-minute walk from the Westin Bayshore, the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel is a modern option (and a good back-up if the Bayshore room block sells out again). This room block starts at 439 CAD/night (~327 USD), and the block closes on June 13.
Travel Note
Please review the link below for instructions if you need to renew your passport! We strongly recommend following the "6-month rule," meaning your passport should be valid for six months after your return travel date from Canada. Note that the renewal process takes a minimum of 7-10 weeks.
Flight
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the closest airport to the city. Alternatively, guests may choose to fly into Seattle (~2.5 hours away) or Bellingham (~1.25 hours away) and rent a car to drive up — you can find border crossing details online. For the best international flight prices, book early! If you plan on joining us for the welcome party yacht cruise around Vancouver on the evening of Thursday, July 27, we recommend planning to land/arrive no later than 3pm Pacific Time (1pm if you are a part of the wedding party) to give you time to get through customs, settle in, and make sure you don't miss the boat — literally! More details to come on the Schedule page. The Vancouver airport is very central to the city and Ubers and cabs are readily available, so there's no need to rent a car if you don't plan on venturing far, but it may be a good idea if you're planning to stick around and explore the province (and beyond).
