Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Adriana Blidaru and Lucas Leyva
Sibiu is really special, small and very easy to explore on foot. We’ve visited a few times over the past couple of years and completely fell in love with the Old Town, the cathedral, and all the little medieval stone streets. We’ll all be staying in the historic center, so everything is easy to reach by walking. Sibiu was once known as Hermannstadt and was founded nearly 900 years ago by Transylvanian Saxons. It later became one of the most important fortified cities in medieval Transylvania, and parts of the old city walls still survive today. It’s also home to the Brukenthal Museum, one of the oldest museums in this part of Europe, which opened to the public in 1817. On Saturday, after Dracula’s Castle, we’ll have a short guided walking tour of Sibiu. Even if you skip the road trip, you should join for the walk. We’ll add recommendations for coffee shops, restaurants, and things to see as the date gets closer.
