He came into the world as such a force of love and happiness. He continues to be the motivation for Ryan and Alix to be better humans, and parents. Josh is overwhelmingly adored by all. He is “the reason” the Lucas family works so hard and feels so complete.

On the day Jordan was born, Alix decided to announce it to the world by pulling the fire alarm at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Alix and Jordan are not just sisters, but best friends.

Ryan met Gabe at a crossroads in his life. Gabe has not only been an amazing friend, but he has been a “guiding light” and role model for Ryan in many forms. Gabe’s examples, work ethic, advice, optimism, consistency, wisdom, faith, and encouragement enabled Ryan to be in more ways than one: the man he is today. Gabe’s friendship and compassion for Ryan also molded a great deal of Ryan’s beliefs and values as a dad, for Josh. Although Ryan put in a lot of work to get where he is, without Gabe’s friendship and stewardship, this amazing life Ryan has wouldn’t be nearly as full. That is why Gabe is THE best man.

Rob is Ryan’s older brother. Ryan idolized Rob growing up and in some ways, still does. Rob has a beautiful family of his own now and Ryan is grateful he can take notes on how to be a “family man” for his own family, from Rob. Ryan’s memories of Rob and Rob’s impact will always be imprinted on Ryan’s heart and in his mind. Ryan loves his brother very much and couldn’t have asked for a better one.

Alix and Lexie have been best friends since middle school. What started off as "if you're not going to school tomorrow, neither am I," has evolved into, "want to get dinner and be in bed be 9pm?"

Kalina and Alix really became close when Ryan and Josh entered Alix's life. Alix stepped into the "parent" role, and leaned on Kalina for support. Kalina has been witness to the bond built between Alix, Josh, and Ryan, and has been a mentor for Alix in so many ways.
Sean Kaufman

Sean has been a close friend to Ryan over the last few years. Both are trudging a path, in a new way of life. Sean is always there to be supportive, receptive, understanding, and blunt with his advice. Sean is also a great example of someone with a work ethic and consistency that Ryan admires. Sean is building a great and exciting life of his own, and Ryan is glad he gets to be there in support of his buddy as well. Sean is truly a great friend.

Although Alix and Vanessa only had one class in high school together, it was social media that brought them together! What started as instagram likes and IG Story responses, is now a bond that can never be broken.

Ryan has known Patrick since kindergarten. Their families are like families and their friendship is for life. Patrick’s life is blossoming in Hawaii and Ryan is glad they’ve always remained in touch over the years. Countless memories, tons of laughs, life’s pains, a variety of adventures, and most of all: a true friendship that’s stood the test of time.

Kenny is one of Ryan’s closest friends. Ryan is in awe of Kenny’s courage, commitment, transparency, and accomplishments in life. Kenny is a true friend. Many adventures throughout high school, laughing so hard they cried, and definitely a fair share of ups and downs. Kenny and Ryan’s friendship has lasted over 10 years - they’ve always remained in touch. Ryan is so happy for Kenny’s success and Kenny has become a wonderful family man and human being. Ryan couldn’t have asked for a better pal!
