We met at LA Fitness (go figure 😉) in Carmel, Indiana in October of 2017. One Friday evening when I was home from IU for the weekend, Luc walked up and introduced himself to me while I was working out calves. He told me that he had seen me in the gym occasionally and had been dying to know my name. I specifically remember him saying that his name was spelled L-U-C but that he wasn't French. I attempted to do my research on him that night but could not find him on social media based on the limited information that I knew about him. A few days later he requested to be my friend on Facebook and slid into my DMs. We went on our first date on October 29th and the rest is history! -Laura

The day that I proposed was surely a day to remember. Leading up to the proposal, many of my ideas were quickly halted due to COVID and the pre-planning was beginning to get stressful. Since Laura and I typically don't go on fancy dates, I knew that any suggestion to go out would be a dead giveaway. I convinced her to join me in a casual trip to our favorite five star joint...Chipotle. Lucky for me, and thanks to her cell phone screen, she didn't even notice that we had missed our exit and that we were pulling into our church parking lot. She was quick to catch on and to everyone's disbelief... she said yes! The gym may have been where we met but at that church is where Laura and I fell in love. -Luc
