They met during the summer after Brittany's high school senior year and Luc's college sophomore year while working at Cold Stone Creamery in Pleasant Hill. Brittany first noticed Luc when she was writing something on a cake and Luc complimented her fine motor skills. Not understanding what that meant, she assumed he was making a joke about her driving since she's Asian, not realizing that he was half Asian also. The two went on their first date about a month after meeting and spent the rest of the summer together. In the fall Luc went back to school at Cal Poly and Brittany went to school at the University of Washington. For 4 years, Luc and Brittany did long distance while at school and spent all their time together during school breaks. Even for one summer, driving 3 hours each way every weekend to spend time together. But hope was in sight to be together once they'd both graduate college... That was not to be the case though. In 2019, Luc was working in California and Brittany was assigned to work in Washington. Luckily, they were able to go to Japan for 2 weeks before Brittany started her job. One of the most memorable outings for them in Japan was when they went on a sake tour. For all wondering, getting to that tour took 2 hours on a train into the middle of nowhere and they only had 1 restaurant that only sold tofu. But the sake tour was amazing and probably one of the coolest things for both of them on that trip. For 6 months they continued doing long distance, switching off every 2 weekends on who would fly to the other. Then COVID hit. Brittany temporarily moved back to California and Luc and Brittany were finally able to move in together. In 2021, with offices reopening, uncertainty hit with when Brittany would have to return to office. With neither of them wanting to be apart from the other, they decided together they would move to Washington. Luckily, Luc had just received his Professional Engineering License and was able to quickly find a new job before they relocated. They had their own routine while in Seattle and grew their friendships with other University of Washington alumni. In Winter 2022, Luc finally popped the question and it was time to move back to California. Now, they're looking forward to getting married and spending the rest of their lives together.
