Lu and Evan both attended the New England Conservatory majoring in Viola Performance for Graduate study. We overlapped for one year. During that year we shared a music stand, had many common friends and even had one "conversation" (notice, we did not talk while sharing a music stand) when we met up for me to return gig music to Lu. Naturally, Evan was shy and could not work up the courage to ask Lu out while we were in school together. Evan was working part time at a music shop the year after Lu graduated when she came in to buy a new Viola case and we met again. That is when Evan finally drummed up the courage to ask Lu out and messaged her later that evening. We met up for our first date after Evan cancelled a few times (haha) and the rest is history!!

Lu said yes on our three year anniversary! The Proposal in of itself was not much of a surprise as we had gone ring shopping for months and had frequent conversations of our future lives together. On the day of the proposal Lu was away at a gig. When Lu arrived home Evan was dressed up with flowers, dinner on the table (yes, Evan cooked lobster, clams and other seafood), Scout with a sign that read "Hey Lu, can we marry your roommate?" and "The Ring". Disclaimer: Scout is our friend Paul's dog who spends all of his time with Lu and Evan!
