In the Fall of 2014, Lu and Avi met in a college speech class at Penn State Harrisburg. On their first date, Avi made pasta puttanesca and there may have been some guitar playing. As you could imagine, Lu was hooked. In between listening to each other present on hobbies and chatting over cup noodles until the sun came up, the two of us quickly grew from strangers to inseparables. Fast forward a year later, knowing we will be parting to different campuses, we took a leap of faith, deciding to pursue our relationship at a distance. While weeks were spent without each other, our love leaned forward for years on end with countless Skype calls, miles of buses and car rides, first from campus to campus, later from Pittsburgh to New York. Then came 2019, when no more flights were intentionally cancelled in exchange for one more day of togetherness - Lu made the move to Pittsburgh. Finally, we closed our 4-year LDR. From surviving finals to building a life together, we've grown side by side, choosing each other through every season and every milestone. Our story is passionate, patient, and resilient. Who would've thought what began with a speech assignment would become the greatest love story we'll ever tell.
