About two weeks after swiping right, Sarah and Michael met for their first date in front of Sarah's apartment building on a Saturday evening in Houston in September 2017. The plan was to go to dinner at a place in their neighborhood, and Michael suggested that they walk to the restaurant. "Walking?! On what sidewalks? Doesn't he know we live in Houston?" Sarah thought. Sarah decided to trust this cheery and energetic photographer (who she still wasn't sure was a real photographer) and brave the potholed streets of Houston. A couple of hours and a lot of laughs later, it was clear to both of them that they would not be going on any more first dates anytime soon. One cross-country move, one house, and around four and a half years later, Michael was again trying to convince Sarah to take a walk. They were staying at Devil's Thumb Ranch in Fraser, Colorado, and Michael told Sarah that they were going to dinner and to dress nice. She had naturally worn her cute new brown suede boots, and Michael more than gently suggested that they walk to the restaurant through the snow for a better view of the mountains. "But there's a dry sidewalk over there?!" said Sarah (out loud this time). With a sigh, Sarah once again decided to trust Michael and take a questionable walk with him. A few minutes later, Michael took her hands and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Much to Michael's chagrin, she was so shocked and excited that she forgot to say yes! She eventually gave Michael an enthusiastic "yes!" and, as they say, the rest is history.
