We first met online and after talking for a couple of weeks, we finally met in person at Rembrandt's coffee shop. It remains one of our special places to this day. After meeting in person, we felt like we've known each other for years. Immediately, I knew Jonathan was different (in a good way). He's sweet, caring, has his head on his shoulders, unique, and special. I almost thought this was too good to be true. After dating for 6 months, the Covid pandemic happened, and it was definitely the worst period of my life. I was out of work for two months, and just mentally and financially recovered from a hit and run accident a couple months prior. On top of that, we had an exposure scare at my house so we couldn't see each other for two weeks. When we finally saw each other in person, we were so happy, and going through this tough time only brought us closer together and made us stronger as a couple. I definitely felt like I found my person.

We were on vacation in Kauai, HI, visiting Jonathan's friend Clint, and his wife Rachel. It was our second day there, and they took us to Waimea Canyon State Park (where outdoor shots of Jurassic Park were filmed) and Napali Coast State Park. While at Napali Coast State Park, Jonathan kept insisting we go down this off beaten path to take some pictures. I was leery about it because the path was muddy, it had just rained, and I didn't want to slip and fall, but Jonathan promised it would be okay. We made it down the path, and at the end was a cliff overlooking the ocean with an amazing view. I was taking pictures when Jonathan wanted to ask me a question. Then he got down on one knee and popped the question. I said yes while in a mess of happy tears. We came back to the main path and there was Clint and Rachel waiting for us.
