We met in 2016- our freshman year at UNCW, in no place other than WAG (the campus dining hall). Both still caught up in the excitement of beginning our collegiate journeys, we would have never imagined how special that Fall night would be. Instantly hitting it off, we became increasingly interested in one another. One of our first conversations revolved around sharing a laugh at JFK's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, where President Kennedy mistakenly declared that he was, in fact- a jelly donut. Our first date, shortly thereafter, would be a lovely evening below the stars on Wrightsville Beach. So eager to get to know each other, neither of us thought about bringing anything to sit on! Thus, we spent our very first date seated in the sand, on a crinkly silver sunshade we found in Brandy's car. We made-do with what we had and enjoyed that cold night talking about life, death and everything in between. Our second date was a delightful dinner in downtown Wilmington. We continued to enjoy each other's company for the entire hour at dinner. What we did not know, however, is that this date would go on for over 5 hours! New to the area, and clearly in a love-crazed state of mind.. We spent the final 4 hours of our date searching for Brandy's parked car. It was truly a wonderful way to familiarize ourselves with the (entire) area, and a bonding experience we will never forget. A thousand dates later, and here we are. We are so grateful for the opportunity to go on a thousand more. We're getting married!!!!
