We met at a presidential election party at our university's BCM, but not much bloomed from it (even though I did offer to share some mozzarella cheese sticks with him from Sonic!). Fast forward to Aug. 14, 2018. A mutual friend of ours said we should talk to each other because we both had an interest that this friend couldn't care less about. Ben and I started talking, a relationship developed, and love grew wild.

I have always loved a band called Shinedown, and Ben has gained a strong love for their music during our relationship. We had these concert tickets to go see them in Knoxville and to do a meet-and-greet with the band. The day before the concert in the hotel, Ben gave me this beautiful letter than described how he felt about me and how much he loved me using Shinedown lyrics. I turned to look at him after I finished reading, and he was down on one knee. I said yes and threw my arms around him, and now we're engaged! We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together, and we are so grateful for all the love and support from everyone!
