PNW Elopement
Like most modern love stories, ours begins online. We connected on Hinge just before New Year’s, then met up in person at a cozy French café. Micah arrived early and waited patiently outside while Julie ran down the street late, sweaty, and flustered—first impressions at their finest. After getting some coffee, we strolled around downtown Alexandria and bonded over our favorite Chinese food spot (a restaurant we both frequented!) and mutual love for music. By our second date, one drink turned into bar-hopping up the street until the lights came on at closing time, one place after another. Conversation flowed effortlessly, time disappeared, and neither of us wanted the night to end. Just three months later, we took a leap and traveled across the country to Yosemite. Micah was officially along for a full week with Julie and her family—ready or not. Between the jaw-dropping views, long hikes, and quiet moments, everything shifted. By the time we left Yosemite, we knew we didn’t want to imagine life any other way than side by side. Our love for nature and travel carried us from coast to coast with a proposal, then marriage. Each of those days remains among the happiest of our lives, and we are grateful to share the beginning of this journey with the people who shape and support us the most.
