Nicole and I met in 2006 while working as counselors at Camp Geneva. As cabin mates, we survived a memory-filled, faith-building summer together during a formative time in college. We have evolved so much since that summer on Lake Michigan, and God has molded us into exactly who He planned us to become. There's no one that knows me better than her & she's been an invaluable resource to Matt & I on our journey to this point.

Abbey & Shelly met during the summer of 2006 at Camp Geneva too! What a formative summer that was! We've gone on endless adventures - from being one of Shelly's very first visitors to the Twin Cities, helping Shelly move to Albuquerque, celebrating Abbey's marriage to Jake, and also exploring the Bay Area & Lake Tahoe. Abbey gave Shelly confidence and excitement to put down new roots in many different cities. Abbey sees the beauty in the small moments & she's helped Shelly do the same.
Kelsey Gann

Shelly, Kelsey and Ian met in October 2019. We ran in similar circles through connections within Echo Church, but officially met in the Hempy's kitchen at Brooklyn's first birthday party. Shelly & Kelsey are both Enneagram 9s, and the way we've seen each other through the seasons of life since that evening have been beyond a blessing that only God could provide. Ian & Kelsey became Shelly's neighbor in 2022. We brewed cider together, took endless walks around the neighborhood, and shared hugs whenever spirits felt heavy without family near. Kelsey is like a sister to Shelly, in every sense of the word.
