Question

Wait, what? The "Save The Date" says 6/9/18.

Answer

You can't always plan the unforeseen, but somehow, someway it always falls into place. We wanted to honor our late mother by celebrating her 100th day before we wed so that she can have a peaceful onward journey. It just so happens that 8/4 (the weekend after her ceremony) is the only weekend that worked out for all of our vendors when we decided that it was best to move our wedding date.

Question

What can I expect at a traditional Cambodian wedding ceremony?

Answer

Monks in the early morning. Live traditional Cambodian orchestra. Multiple outfit changes for multiple ceremonies. A parade. Cambodian food. It will be a beautiful (and dare we say, chaotic) spectacle to watch, even if you can't understand what the priest is narrating throughout each ceremony. Expect a full day of back-to-back ceremonies- some of which you get to take part in! A detailed program will be provided during the event to explain the significance of each ceremony.

Question

If I can't make it the whole day, when is the best time to attend the Cambodian ceremony?

Answer

You don't want to miss the groom's procession where all of the guests carry offerings (this will be provided) in a parade to greet the bride! (this will take place approximately at 10am) The cleansing hair cutting ceremony, where guests pretend to cut the bride and groom's hair is also a crowd favorite. *Special permission to shine Ricky's head! (this will take place after lunch, approximately 1pm) Lastly, the knot tying ceremony is an important time for guests to bless the new couple by tying a string around their wrist. (this will take place during the late afternoon, approximately 4pm)

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Friday: Dressy casual, or Khmer attire if you have it. Saturday: Semi-formal, cocktail attire. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids - we really do, but due to space limitations in our reception venue, we have to strictly adhere to the number of guests marked on your invitation. Plus, you deserve a fun night out without the kids! *P.S. They're more than welcome to join Friday's ceremony!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. We really wish we could invite everyone, but due to space limitations of the venue we unfortunately will not be able to accommodate any additional guests.

Question

Will there be open bar?

Answer

Of course! But we've limited it to only beer and wine and two signature cocktails that we're sure you will love. We have a NO SHOTS rule -- trust us, you'll thank us the next day for it! You'll have plenty to enjoy yourself throughout the whole night while still being able to remember it.

Question

Band or DJ?

Answer

C'mon...you know us - BOTH! There will be a live Khmer band (get ready to dance in circles!) plus a DJ playing all of our favorite throwback party hits.

For all the days along the way
