FAQs

We have a lot of questions too.. and we are still working to find the answers!
Question

What is happening? Are you canceling the wedding? Are we still invited?

Answer

Great questions everyone-we have considered all of the above, so please read below. We are still planning to have our wedding, same time, same place, and some of the same party people, and we must make changes to our plan to adjust to the current times. As much as we'd love to be surrounded by our entire village of family and friends, we had to make the difficult decision to keep the guest list small in order to adhere to the Maine state guidelines. We are unable to "cancel" at this time. So, we are making the adjustments necessary to move forward with our wedding, as "planned". Please see the other FAQ's below. Times are a'changing. We anticipate there may be other adjustments as we get closer to October. We will be sure to keep you posted. Please do the same!

Question

How are you abiding by the new state guidelines?

Answer

In order to adhere to the new capacity guidelines, we have cut our guest list in half. For added safety, GRE will take all guests temperatures before they get on the shuttle or when you arrive at the Estate. Stay cool baby :) Guests will be asked to sign and acknowledge a form provided by GRE. This form acknowledges that you, the guest, are aware of COVID-19 Pandemic as well as the proper steps to take to avoid spreading the virus.

Question

What other adjustments are being made?

Answer

The venue: Granite Ridge Estate is an outdoor venue with an open-air barn that we will use for seating. We have adjusted our table layout to incorporate for 6 ft of distance between tables and common flow spaces. Should you prefer your own table for your pod- let us know and we will adjust our seating chart accordingly. Dance Floor: The state of Maine does not have any footloose laws at this time. We will all have the option to shake our groove thangs in our own 6ft spotlight. Food and Drinks: You will be required to glove and mask up when visiting the food stations, sanitizer, gloves, and masks will be available for you to wear when you are visiting the food stations. Once you go through the line, there will a place for you to dispose of your gloves and masks before you head back to your table. Instead of china wear, we will be using single-use compostable and recyclable dishware.

Question

What about everyone traveling from out of state to Maine?

Answer

As of September 23, 2020 the travel restrictions for Massachusetts residents traveling to Maine have been lifted. https://www.maine.gov/covid19/

Question

What else?

Answer

We have deeply considered the current state of the world and completely understand and respect that everyone has different comfort levels in adjusting to this new normal. We are committed to doing our part to celebrate responsibly and we ask that you do the same. If you have any symptoms, or any possibility of exposure please stay home. While our hope is that everyone is comfortable and able to attend, we strictly prefer that you do not come if you have any concerns. Mask On Mask Off: Face coverings are available for you to use at your discretion. We ask that you mask up on the shuttle, and in between eating and drinking when you are not able to keep 6ft of distance between you and other party people. Next steps: we have asked that you include your email in your RSVP. We will be in touch with updates, confirmed shuttle schedules, and other important information as we get closer to 10/10!
