Like many couples nowadays, we met online...Tinder to be specific. The connection we have stems from our love for music, family and culture. After a few dates, we spontaneously went on a trip together and the rest is history! So instead of focusing on the 'how we met', we figured it would be a better to focus on when we knew we found "the one". E: There were many times I found myself thinking "yep...he's the one". The first time I had even a remote feeling was solely based off of someone else's opinion...my fathers. See, my dad loved to come up with nicknames for pretty much every guy I've ever brought around. Some were hilarious and some... not so much, but I knew something was different when my father could not come up with one for Isaac. I think he couldn't come up with one because he had no desire to do so. It was almost as if my father knew before I did that this guy was special. Also, Isaac has such a selfless nature. He would do anything he could to help someone's day get a little easier. From running out of our first apartment to help our old roommate get the groceries out of her car in the middle of a monsoon to assisting strangers at O'Hare get their heavy luggage in their taxi, he always found a reason to help. He reminds me every day how the little things matter, and that being a good person is its own reward. Isaac inspires me to be my best self everyday, so in return I try to do the same. I: I knew Ericka was the one for me very quickly into our relationship. After our first date at Northerly Island, I asked her to come with me to Atlanta for the weekend and surprisingly, she said yes. I knew it was a crazy idea, but I had a feeling about her that I couldn't quite explain just yet. As we've grown together over the years, it was her devotion to her family, friends and her big heart that made me realize I didn't want to do this life thing without her. Family is a huge factor in my life and I prayed for someone who had shared the same values. More than that, it was the relationship she's built with my niece Dolly that completely changed the game. Dolly is one of the most important people in my life and I am truly grateful for the way Ericka has accepted and loves her. Everything about Ericka has made me fall completely and effortlessly in love with her. I can confidently say she is my best friend and my rock.
