Taco Billy
Small-town taco place with the best breakfast tacos we've ever had. The last time we were in Asheville we ate here all three mornings. Our favorites include the Billy Holliday, Billy Joel, and Migas tacos.
12 Bones Smokehouse SOUTH
12 Bones South is open on Saturday, while River is open Monday. It's our favorite barbecue we've had in NC, and we come here every time we're in town! We suggest the Blueberry Chipotle ribs and pulled pork.
White Duck Taco Shop
We go because it's pet friendly, we keep coming back because it's delicious. White duck has locations in the River Arts District and Downtown Asheville. We suggest the Thai Peanut Chicken and Bangkok Shrimp tacos, but go ahead and order some queso too!
Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas
Sara loves dumplings. We had to order extra Shanghai style (soup) dumplings the last time we came. Also really good won ton soup and great Chinese food selections.
Asheville Brewing Company
Downtown location has large, covered outside seating area perfect for when Shadow comes for dinner! Try a weird pizza- trust us. The cheeseburger in paradise and magic dragon pizza were insane with one of their in-house beers.
French Broad Chocolate Lounge
Chocolate. Everything. Go on an off-time to avoid the line, but it's still worth the line. We suggest the chocolate creme brulee and the chocolate mousse, but take some truffles home with you!
New Belgium Brewing Company
We love the beer, patio and view overlooking the French Broad River. It's our favorite place to bring your dog and relax after a hike.
Hi-Wire Brewing - South Slope
Located in downtown Asheville, dog friendly, and our favorite beer has a dog on it. Try the low-pitch juicy IPA.
Black Balsam Knob
This is our favorite Asheville hike, with 360 views of the blue ridge mountains. We took our engagement photos here! Moderate- Strenuous loop, with 688ft of elevation gain and ~4 miles long.
Looking Glass Rock
Not for the faint of heart. Sara cried on the last miles straight up. Strenuous, but the view is unbeatable with views of the blue ridge and parkway. Keep puppers on leash due to the steep drop off.
Graveyard Fields Loop Trail
One of our favorite, less strenuous options, close to Black Balsam Knob. This 3.7 mi loop (1.5 mi loop also available) has beautiful waterfall views and a place to take your pup in the water!
Craggy Gardens
Beautiful 1.9 mi total out and back hike with mild-moderate elevation change and good views! Start at the lower parking lot using the above coordinates.
