In June 2022, Katie was hosting a party at her apartment on L Street in South Boston. Her friend Sean mentioned he had a buddy from the Army who lived across the street and asked if he could invite him over. It was then in Katie's living room where she and Tom first met! After spending the party chatting in lawn chairs in her backyard, they exchanged numbers and the rest is history..

It was our first full day in Ireland, and Tom's first time driving on the other side of the road & car. So when he was seemingly nervous and in a rush to get to Westport (a 3 hour drive from Dublin), Katie was suspicious but brushed it off as nerves from the drive. Once we settled in Westport, Tom suggested checking out Bertra Beach just down the road. It was a scenic beach with views of the sea, rolling hills of sheep and Mount Crough Patrick in the back. Thomas got down on one knee and Katie said YES YES YES! The rest of the Ireland trip was full of soaking in all the moments and the two of them staring at the ring with every sip of Guinness.
