The year was 2020, Robin celebrated her 30th Birthday in January with a party bus and a fun night out with friends. No one knew, but her gift to herself was trying online dating. The whole process was exhausting and overwhelming. By March, she did something even crazier and tried FarmersOnly (the nation's most poorly designed website) and eventually received a message from the only person on the site she kind of knew ... Mr. Jesse Struck. Jesse is a proud dad of 4 - Trey, Kyla, Nate + Calleigh and has an affinity for Gelbvieh cattle, Black Velvet, and livestock auctions. Robin is the blonde, "not from here" photographer, but she loves South Dakota, sourdough bread, and working in the livestock marketing industry. Right as COVID started to rock everyone's world, through very careful research Robin decided Jesse wasn't a serial killer. She invited him over for supper. She cooked steaks, asparagus and Jesse's least favorite food - baked potatoes. While he nervously told her his whole life story (with detailed descriptions of his high school classes), she decided she liked him, and finally convinced him to stop talking around 1 am. Because of the pandemic, they didn't eat out at a restaurant until June, and Jesse learned that Robin meant business in the kitchen. Soon, she was sending treats to the farm and making muffins for shows. Robin technically met all of the kids at the SD Summer Spotlight. Then, throughout 2020, they were introduced to each other's families and Jesse took his first trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving. In 2021, the couple took Jesse's kids to Gelbvieh Jr. Nationals in Mississippi (family road trips - yay!) Jesse also took his first-ever plane ride to Chicago O'Hare on a trip back to Indiana. And, it was decided they would officially move in together. Later that year, they bought a house on the NW side of Sioux Falls, and everyone was closer to the farm in Humboldt. Since then, a few things have changed job wise. Robin became a business owner, and launched G.O. Promo LLC in 2023. Jesse works at Sioux Falls Regional and now travels with the Cattle Business Weekly during bull sale season. The garage is full of boots and cow poop. They spend a majority of their "free" time working with the cattle, and the couple enjoys making elaborate meals once a month when the kids all come over for supper. Not everything has been easy, and it's not supposed to be. They've (happily, for some) added a fluffbutt cat - Butterball - to their family and done some improvements around their house. When Jesse + Calleigh *FINALLY* asked Robin to marry him in December 2022, it was an obvious and easy yes. The wedding is at Robin's childhood home in NW Indiana in a beautiful setting - white farm house, red barn, pond and a few rolling hills ... all surrounded by corn fields of course. June and green grass seemed like the perfect time to show off the beautiful property. OH! AND it fits in Robin and Jesse's busy professional schedules. Because the families live so far apart, we knew they wanted to have a party in South Dakota as well. Everyone is invited to both celebrations, and they know summer is busy for everyone, but your presence is present enough! Come on out for some good food, fun dancing and cake ... everybody loves cake!
