Before the ceremony, we will sign the Ketubah, a beautifully written marriage contract that outlines our commitments to one another and is witnessed and signed as a symbol of love, responsibility, and partnership. We will then stand beneath the Chuppah, an open-sided canopy representing the home we will build together, one rooted in warmth, community, and fun. During the ceremony, we will circle each other, a meaningful ritual that symbolizes unity, protection, and the creation of a shared, balanced life as equal partners. Later at the reception, we’ll celebrate with the Horah, a lively and joyful dance where guests join hands in a circle and lift us in chairs, celebrating not just our union but the strength and support of our friends and family!
The Cookie Table is a beloved Pennsylvania wedding tradition where family and friends contribute homemade cookies to create a large, shared dessert spread. Rooted in community and hospitality, it’s a sweet way to celebrate, honor loved ones, and make sure there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy!
The Bride’s Dance, also known as the Money Dance, is a lively reception tradition rooted in Pennsylvania’s heritage, where guests dance with the bride while offering a small monetary gift to support the couple. During the dance, guests line up, place money in an apron of the Maid of Honor, and dance with the Bride for a second or two, and then receive a shot or a piece of cake. The groom may “rescue” the bride at the end with a final dance. Because Jordan's mom grew up in Pennsylvania, this tradition is especially meaningful to them and a fun way to celebrate with everyone! Any cash obtained during this fun tradition will go towards our honeymoon fund!
