Our Story

8.14.15

Joshua and I met at Tupelo High School in August of 2015. I was enrolled in a Health Science class at the time, and through mutual friends we ended up sitting together at lunch every day. Unknowingly, Josh had a crush on me and later proceeded to send her a message through Instagram (yes, he slid in the dm’s). This is the beginning of what will become of a lifetime of happiness for the two of us. One evening after school Josh decided to finally make his first move to speak with me. After Josh messaged me, I resisted for about two hours before replying back. Priscilla’s friend had known Josh for several years, so I decided to ask her opinion of him the next day in Health Science class. When I got to class and told my friend, she encouraged me to talk to Josh. At the time I was shy, and that day at lunch I avoided speaking to Josh. But, my lack of communication did not stop the two of us from communicating through text messaging which would lead him asking me on a date. On our first date Josh came to pick me up, but it was mandatory he meet my parents before leaving. As Josh walked in my dad had a very firm look on his face and proceeded to ask Josh questions, making Josh very nervous. With sweaty hands and blushed cheeks, Josh timidly asked my father for permission to take me out. My dad agreed under the circumstances that Josh would have me back in one hour. With one hour of time we did not have enough time to grab dinner, which is what we had planned. We settled on Baskin Robbins and thirty minutes at the park. Apparently my dad did not scare him off, because not even one year later Josh got on one knee and presented Priscilla with a promise ring (LOL). At this time we both knew what we wanted for the rest of our lives.

Our Proposal

12.7.2019

Throughout all the memories made and the “bump sessions” from Josh’s loud subs in his Tahoe, I have found the love of my life. We have overcame many obstacles, where our love grew more each day. It finally came a time where the Lord placed in our hearts to start our lives as one. The Lord has provided evidence that we are made for each other and has blessed us beyond measures. It’s not a type of love we see on a daily basis, but a love Jesus has a for His children. I knew Josh was going to ask me to marry him but, was unsure when. We planned a trip to Gatlinburg with another couple in January, so it made sense that it would happen there, but I thought wrong. On December 7, 2019 Josh caught me off guard. He was very suspicious that day, but didn’t think anything of it. I was set on it happening in Gatlinburg. That whole Saturday, Josh’s plans didn't make any sense to me, therefore I asked him a ton of questions, making it very difficult for Josh. As he picked me up, I noticed that he was very anxious. I asked him, “Why are you so anxious?” He was looking back and forth from the vehicle’s windows, so I tell him I don’t know what you’re so worried about. We arrive at Tombigbee State Park. He states, “I have to sell a gun.” From this point, I am very puzzled of what’s going on. I tell Josh, “nobody sells a gun at a dock.” As we get out and start walking towards the dock, Josh looks at me and says, “It’s beautiful out here”. I proceeded to look at him with confusion. Suddenly, I hear footsteps scrambling through the leaves, so I turned back to see what it is. The noise I heard was a photographer. I turned back around to Josh on one knee. Taking a minute to grasp everything that was going on. In a state of shock, I happily said YES! After all was over, we excitably started FaceTiming all of our friends. It was the most exciting moment of our lives. I couldn't stop looking at him, knowing how much joy it would bring me to spend the rest of my life with this man.
