To our beloved family and friends, WHAT A YEAR! I don’t think any of us could’ve anticipated what we’ve endured this year so far, and we’re still so completely uncertain about what’s to come. In light of life’s current ambiguities, we have officially decided to cancel the ceremony previously scheduled for November 19, 2021. SAD RIGHT?! Trust us, we know. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but we weren’t comfortable moving forward in planning or preparation with such uncertainty. Please know that we were looking forward to having each of you celebrate our big day WITH us! BE NOT DISMAYED! We are going VIRTUAL! The wedding will be streamed on FOUR major platforms LIVE for all of our family and friends to be apart of—even if from a distance! Catch our union live on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 5pm! We’ve put our creative hats on, and have planned to make even the virtual ceremony one to truly be remembered! We’re praying that one day, when the virus passes over, we’ll be able to congregate and party hard! Until then....we’re asking that you still get dressed up, pour a glass of delight, gather your families around the screen, and enjoy our ceremony from the comfort of your home! We look forward to "seeing" you there! We Love You! Kedric & Charity
We know it seems cliche', but music is really what brought us together! A mutual friend of ours happened to share a Facebook live video of me singing at a ministry engagement back in 2017. Kedric requested to be friends on a few social media platforms, and we began to exchange surface commentary (about music) for a while. Early 2018, he slid into the DMs! However, I initially expressed that I only wanted to be friends. That summer, I went on a 100 day fast from social media. To my surprise, upon my return, I found 100+ messages/prayers/kind words from "Keddy Ked". I think it's safe to say that I was swept off my feet at that point....even tho I still hadn't given him my number. (Lol) A month or two later, I assume when he'd had enough of the social media exchange, he gave me his number. I waited a few days, but eventually I called, and we've talked every single day since! Kedric found me in a season that I honestly didn't know how I'd survive. He was and is "Heaven on Earth!" He's such constant breath of fresh air! A consistent reminder of God's love!
*O P E R A T I O N M A R S H A L L* In Fall of 2019, we started having more definitive/serious conversations about marriage, wedding rings, proposal expectations, etc. Little did Charity know, I had started the perfect proposal plan and wanted to make sure that she was not only surprised, but satisfied! I called our closest friends, gave them the time and date, set the location, and I was set to propose to the Love of My Life on April 18, 2020! ...then came CORONAVIRUS. What was I going to do now? I couldn't wait any longer than I already had....but thank God for great friends! Luckily, our "tribe" jumped right in and we all got to work on what we called "Operation Marshall!" So on May 1, 2020, I scheduled Charity a hair appointment with our sister (Tache'). While she was out, my brother and friend (Kyle) came over to help me cook and transform her living room into a romance lounge! I created a FT and zoom room for our friends from afar to join in on the surprise! All of our planning and hard work was about to pay off! Longer story made short, Charity opened the door and I was on one knee. She walked into a candlelit aisle of rose petals that led to a dining table with dinner, roses, and a few other sweet nothings from me. The Operation Marshall Crew sung bells and whistles as she cried tears of joy and accepted without hesitation. After it all, she asked was I nervous...I told her no...because I KNEW undoubtedly that "I had found the one my soul loves." (Song of Solomon 3:4)
