We met on a dating app in August 2021 when Jill sent David a message remarking that his profile was too good to be true. To prove he was, in fact, all that he said he was online, David suggested a casual meetup to walk around Lady Bird Lake. We talked easily for a couple of hours on that first date, but both insisted we wanted to take things slow and start as friends...that didn't last long! By October we were definitely more than friends and in December we planned a trip to Belize together for Christmas. The two weeks spent traveling around Belize cemented our already intense feelings for each other and by the end of the trip, David had spontaneously proposed. We were so excited, we couldn't wait to make it official and immediately began planning an elopement. In January 2022, we dropped our marriage certificate off at the courthouse to be signed (Apparently that's all you need to do now - Thanks, Covid!) and spent the day celebrating together by getting tattoos of our initials on our fingers in lieu of rings, taking a walk around Lady Bird Lake where it all started, and attending a beautiful cacao ceremony at a local yoga studio. It was the perfect way for the two of us to privately mark our commitment to one another. Now married, it was clear we needed a home that would fit our combined families. We finally found a four-bedroom house in Northeast Austin with the perfect layout. In August, we moved in with our two daughters, Mian (15) and Anka (6), and our four (yes, FOUR!) cats, Neko, Mr. Coconut, Forrest, and Finnie. We always knew we wanted to eventually plan a wedding to include our daughters, family, and closest friends. When imagining a venue to host our intimate wedding celebration, our new home seemed like the perfect place. We look forward to welcoming you all into our home and sharing this special day together!
