Our friend Andrea and Drew's sister, Kayla, the matchmakers, set us up by introducing us via facebook. One day, very randomly, Andrea texted me and asked me to look at her friend Drew on facebook. It was so random, I had to give it a try. I had been praying for my one and only Prince Charming. So when an opportunity like that just falls on your lap, you take it! She described him as, sweet, athletic, and a really good friend. With our busy schedule and after a couple of weeks of just texting back and forth, Drew and I finally found a night to go out for ice cream. We met, he interrogated me, asked me all kinds of weird questions, but we talked and I felt like I could just tell him everything. He told me he had to go to take care of his dog because she was all alone, and I knew I had found the one. It did not help that I worked with both Andrea, who knew all the deets on all of our dates, but I worked with his sister, Kayla, too!
We were headed to a "Christmas game night", on December 27th. It all seemed normal until we decided to play White Elephant. In case you don't know what White Elephant- it's a game where you unwrap a mess-of-a-ball made out of saran wrap and aluminum foil and gradually win little prizes. however, the REAL prize in the middle of the ball. Oh, and you have to wear kitchen mittens. Oh, and you have to roll doubles on dice. Apparently, everyone was part of the plan but me. Long story short, I got the ball at the right time, Drew "tried to get doubles" on the dice so he could play his turn. I got to the middle of the ball, opened the ring box, he got on one knee, and the rest is history.
