We stumbled into each others lives on a warm lucky February day. I was a student worker at the college we both attended. Marcus came into the welcome center to speak to his academic advisor about his classes and stayed after his meeting to speak to our mutual friend, who was my coworker. Because he is a gentleman, he waited in the lobby until we got off work that evening to walk us to our cars. Walks to the car turned into hangouts with friends, that grew into a loving relationship and the rest is history!

Marcus joined the Navy a year after we started dating. He was then stationed in Virginia and I had joined the Army National Guard attached to a Signal unit in Pensacola, Fl. 4 years later, God and our ancestors gave him the 100th sign to lock in his blessing (lol) A few weeks before the proposal he told me he was coming to Pensacola for a visit. That weekend began with Marcus saying " we are doing whatever you want to do" and we did. On the night of the proposal, we went to Fleming's Steakhouse in Destin, Fl. We were greeted as Mr. And Mrs. Greer by (everyone) I didn't correct any of them. The table was candle lit with a single red rose on the table waiting for me. Fast forward to the end of the evening, 2 dozen white roses, champagne, getting on one knee and tears, I was soon to be Lovely Greer.

We officially tied the knot on September 14th 2019. It was with a small gathering of close family and friends. In between Marcus scheduled military obligations and my military commissioning schedule, we decided to commit to a small wedding with the idea of having a bigger ceremony in 2020. That did not happen due to COVID, but this time around 9.24.2022 #GoingGreer will be in full effect! Hope to see you all there.
