In 2016 we both happened to be on our college spring breaks in the same city! Miami of all places! After meeting, the next morning Matt reached out and scheduled a second date! And then several more were scheduled! Our first date was at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia a week later.

Matt and I wanted to celebrate recent milestones in our lives by visiting one of our favorite wineries in Braselton, Georgia. We reserved an afternoon High Tea at Chateau Elan followed by a warm evening dinner. We had a lovely display of desserts at tea that turned our teeth blue, and caused many laughs. We visited Paddy’s Irish Pub at around 6pm for refreshments prior to dinner where Matt asked highly suspicious questions! “What is your favorite memory of us?” This was the first real hint in my opinion, but I brushed it off at the time as being sweet after a pleasant afternoon. On route to dinner he mentioned taking a few photos in the front vineyard where lovely strangers agreed to snap a few photos for us. This allowed Matt to look for the real photographer's placement, while I was distracted, before he proceeded to begin to lower on one knee. We used the joyous time afterwards to celebrate on a private balcony with champagne and roses while we called family. We did finally make it to dinner at a much later time, which was followed by a quiet evening on a terrace while calling friends with the blissful news.
