11.23.2014, Military game day, New England Patriots vs. The Detroit Lions. The Patriots Cheerleaders walked onto the field for the flag unfurling, game day practice. Little did Alyssa and Timothy realize that this would be the beginning of a beautiful journey. During the game day practice, Alyssa stood next to Timothy and they practiced unfurling the flag over and over again (for about 3 hours). They also spent the entire time talking and joking around about the guy on the other side of Alyssa being a total creep. Looking back, maybe Timothy was just trying to get in that extra time talking with Alyssa. After practice, Alyssa went into the cheer building for practice and Timothy went into the practice bubble for dinner. Alyssa thought about Timothy as did he with her. When they re-entered the field for game time, Alyssa's father, Jeff, was taking pictures of Alyssa holding onto the Navy flag. Jeff too was in the Navy and was proud to see his little girl holding a piece of that flag. Alyssa asked Timothy to turn around for a picture. When she stated she would post the picture on Facebook and tag Timothy so that he could have the photo, he stated he no longer had social media. It was at this moment that Alyssa decided she needed to know Timothy more and she offered him her phone number "to send that photo along". The flag unfurling went so well and Timothy went into the stands to watch the game while Alyssa cheered the Pats on. After winning the game 34-9, the two should have known bright things were to come. After the game, Timothy texted Alyssa thanking her for showing him the ropes on the field and Alyssa sent the infamous photo off to Timothy. After a few text exchanges, Timothy asked Alyssa if she had just given him her phone number for the photo or if she minded if he kept in touch. She of course did not mind at all, they had their first date a week later at the Boston Christmas tree lighting and the rest is truly history!
