Nicholas & Skylar met in a hockey rink, of course. It was at the Minnesota State Hockey Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in a suite their company had rented out. Nicholas saw Skylar and wanted to say something, but chickened out. He sat down, just one row in front of Skylars row. No more than 5 minutes pass and Skylar made the first move "So, who do you think is gonna win?" Nicholas stirred and tried to find words and just blurted one of the teams. From there, Skylar moved to a seat next to Nicholas and they talked for the entire game. Life, hockey, family and everything in between. The group they were with mentioned going out for the night and they both decided to join. As they rambled from bar to bar, they couldn't leave each other's side. At one point with the slippery walking, Nicholas grabbed Skylar's hand to keep her safe from the icy paths. They both kind of smiled and giggled like little kids. They continued their bar adventure until the night was over and Nicholas asked Skylar if she'd be at any of the other games the next day, she of course was going to be and asked Nicholas the same question. They made a plan to meet up again and they haven't left each other's side since then. Little did either realize that "So, who do you think is gonna win?" would lead to them both winning their life together.
