Cliff and Misty attended Wallace Rider Farrington High School in Honolulu, HI. Cliff is a year older than Misty but they shared an elective class together. They knew of each other but never communicated with each other. They even sat at the same table just a few seats apart from each other. In 2004, Cliff moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas. One day, Cliff saw a post on Facebook and commented on Misty’s post. He found out that she also lived in Las Vegas. One day, on his way to his sister’s house, he spotted Misty driving. He ended up contacting her and the rest was history.

Cliff and Misty had tickets to attend a Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite event. It was a spur of the moment idea for Misty to propose although they have been together for 14 going on 15 years. Prior to checking into hotel, Misty had the hotel room decorated for the proposal. After having lunch, they both checked into the hotel and to Cliff’s surprise, the room was decorated. He thought the room automatically came decorated for the themed Disney event. Once he realized that it wasn’t, Misty popped the question and he said yes!
