Cody and I met in high school and before you say, “they’re high school sweethearts”, you’re already wrong. Cody and I did not start dating until 3 years after we had graduated. After graduation, we went our separate ways, I started college and he enlisted in the Navy. One night I was working at In N Out, Cody walked in with friends and I could feel my face burning up from being nervous. Before leaving he came up to me and asked me to write my number down for him, he later texted me to hang out at a NYE party with his group of friends (he made the first move). If you’re thinking this is where our love story began you’re still wrong, because I didn’t go. Cody came home again in December 2016 to be with family. At the time, I was still working at INO and Cody again walked into INO for the 2nd time, it was fate. In that moment I had a gut feeling that the universe was trying to say something to get my attention, but I ignored it because fate only happens in movies, right? That same night, Cody texted me and asked me on a second date to go bowling, I happily accepted. Later on the next morning I decided not to go because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. It wasn’t until Aug 2017 that we started talking again after he "slid into my DM’s" on Instagram (he really did). After finishing what I thought was a cute message to send to him, I realized he had messaged me first. A month later, I purchased a round trip flight to VA to see Cody in Nov 2017. Upon landing into Norfolk, VA, I almost did not get off the plane because I was so nervous to see him. We ended up spending our first date/night together bowling – funny how things work out. The last couple of years have been nothing short of amazing and while perfect love stories are only read in books or seen in movies (waiting on Nicholas Sparks to make our story into a book), there was a reason why we were brought together and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate our special day with family and friends.
