Our Love Story - The Beginning

Summer 2019

Through the magic of a dating app, food poisoning, and a drive home from the best man, our paths crossed on a fateful summers day in early July 2019 in London. We instantly connected over our love for architecture and design, travel, art, ice cream, and our countless similarities. Two weeks later on a drizzly day, we met at Borough Market for our first date. What we thought would be a lovely morning at the Tate Modern turned into an all day affair walking around London, and 7.5 hours later we both knew we were destined to be with one another! Thus began a cross continental love story sponsored by British Airways, SAS, and Icelandair.

Our Proposal

August 2020

Some say we were a bit quick to start talking about marriage after only two weeks, but when you know, you know, and boy did we know! However, we both honed our patience during a long distance relationship and a global pandemic. After five long months of separation, Elizabeth (Beth) was able to fly to Sweden to visit Christopher for two months in the summer of 2020. Given previous conversations, she was expecting a proposal shortly after arriving, especially with Christopher's purchase of champagne the day she arrived, but little did she know, there was no ring...yet. As the days went on, Christopher kept Elizabeth on her toes, and finally on August 11th, 2020, the long awaited day came. A few days prior, the ring was delivered and hidden away in his parent's cupboard for safe keeping, and on that same night Christopher asked Elizabeth if she would like to have a picnic on the beach after work a couple days later. She of course said yes, thinking maybe this was it, but she was skeptical given his 70's COVID hairstyle. As he had a haircut scheduled a couple days after the picnic, she thought for sure he would wait until afterwards to propose. Just in case though, Elizabeth put on makeup, and they enjoyed a lovely dinner at Frösakull Beach, Sweden. As the sun set on the horizon, Christopher asked Elizabeth if he could take a picture of her with her arms outstretched and overlooking the sea. She happily obliged, and as she turned around from the picture, Christopher was down on one knee holding the most beautiful ring. He started to talk, but Elizabeth quickly and uncontrollably interrupted exclaiming, "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!..." Tears ensued, as Christopher asked Elizabeth to be his wife. Later that night Christopher was finally given the opportunity to share what he wanted to say, and it made Elizabeth the happiest girl on earth! She has since learned to show a little more restraint.
