we're getting married!!!

Two important notes about Rachel and Trevor from before they met: 1) Rachel only watched the Hokies play football. 2) Trevor did not like Taylor Swift. Now we can get started. Rachel first saw Trevor when his Hinge profile was being cast to her TV on New Year's Eve. The two matched and went on their first date to get ice cream at Coldstone on January 7th, 2024. Two hours and a great conversation later, they were both hooked. They continued texting, and Rachel was yammering on about how she wanted to see what Taylor Swift was wearing at the Chief's game that day, to which Trevor replied, “Speaking of wanting to see people, when do I get to see you again?” Pretty smooth, Trev. Their next date was supposed to be a walk with the dogs, but it ended up being 32 degrees, which was too cold for Rocky (and Rachel). They pivoted to shopping for shoes and light fixtures (followed by more ice cream), which set the tone for the relationship. They quickly found so much joy in doing day-to-day life together. Sam's Club after church on Sundays with soft pretzels. Walking Daisy and Rocky around Pullen Park. Watching lots of sports with drinks and friends. Trevor even managed to convince Rachel to love the NC State Wolfpack (just not quite as much as she loves the Hokies). The Wolfpack ended up playing an important role in this relationship. On March 16th, 2024, after four wins in four days, the Pack was headed to the ACC basketball championship in Washington D.C. Rachel and Trevor decided at the last minute to go to Rachel’s first basketball game, and, on the way there, Trevor asked Rachel to officially be his girlfriend under the cherry blossom trees, at sunset (about time). State won the game, punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament, and Rachel joked about going to Arizona if NC State made it to the Final Four. Three weeks later, Rachel flew across the country with a guy she had known for three months to attend her second basketball game (totally reasonable). The Pack did not win the game, but Rachel left Arizona knowing she was going to marry Trevor Capps. Trevor came to the same realization about Rachel a few months later at a tiki bar in Raleigh. Life was pretty normal after Arizona, and the adventures stayed a bit closer to home with weekend trips to the beach, lake, and mountains, until Rachel finally convinced Trevor to book a trip to Iceland for their first dating anniversary. In March of 2025, they spent nine days road tripping across the island, hiking, chasing rainbows, exploring ice caves, and snorkeling in glacier water. An international trip with no cell service can make or break a couple, and it made them. They came home with enough memories to last a lifetime and the desire to continue exploring the world together. On August 16, 2025, Rachel thought they were planning one of their usual breakfast dates at Pullen Park in Raleigh, until Trevor informed her that they were not getting bagels on the way to the park, and they would eat after. Rachel was not thrilled about that until Trevor got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The answer was "yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!" Trevor planned a whole engagement shoot following the proposal and even packed some of her favorite dresses to change into. Rachel was completely surprised (if you know Rachel, you know this is the most impressive part)! Rachel and Trevor are so excited for their future filled with adventures (near and far), sporting events (go Pack, Hokies, and Canes), Sam's Club trips, dog walks, and bagels at Pullen Park. Most of all, they're excited that their future will be spent together. That's their story so far, so what's changed since the beginning? An update to the important notes: 1) Rachel now has season tickets to NC State football games and loves hockey. 2) Trevor adds Taylor Swift songs to his playlists "just for Rachel.”
