This is a neat little spot to visit right at the base of Camp Wawona's entrance. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the swinging bridge where you can lounge, get in the cool water, and get refreshed!
Taft: The absolute best place for Sunset! Enjoy incredible sunset at the end of this relatively flat hike. We share great memories of youth ministry, family outings here, and special prayer times. It is our absolute favorite scene at Sunset, and on the top #3 list of amazing views in Yosemite to us. If you are coming in at Sunset, please bring flashlights, and a fully charged phone, there are fissures and steep drop offs on this hike so please be aware of where you are going!
Fun fact: this place is one of the largest high-elevation meadows in the Sierra Nevada. It offers sweeping views of granite domes, alpine meadows, and clear streams. It is a great place to stroll around either on foot or rent bikes to get amazing views!
Kendra found this phenomenal thrift store that sells outdoor gear brands. Some of the best outdoor finds are here! If you are a thrifter, you may want to make a stop here!
We are suckers for yummy ice cream, this is almost always a treat on our way out of Yosemite.
If you are wanting to pop into church on Sabbath, this is the nearest church to Wawona. It is located in Oakhurst (1 hour from Fresno, 45 min from the entrance to Yosemite)
I haven’t found a Boba spot that rivals pearl tea house in quality, flavor, and price. Their piña colada slush will transport your taste buds to a beach on Hawaii. - Austin
The food is good here and easily customizable vegetarian/vegan food. But the main highlight of this place is the incredible Baklava Greek Yogurt that never fails to make Kendra happy. Austin's trips to CA often include quick trips for this sweet treat with Kendra.
La Jacka is a plant based Mexican restaurant that uses jackfruit as their meat substitute. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Their birria tacos are my favorite- Austin. The crunchwraps are my favorite-Kendra.
This is a quick and popular sandwhich shop known for its wide array of vegan/vegetarian meats and sauces. Kendra's favorite is not on the public menu- James and the Giant Peach. This is a great pit stop for picking up lunch on your way from Fresno to Yosemite!
This is easily one of Kendra and Austin's top #3 favorite food spots in Fresno. This thai food is the best in town, hands down, and you cannot go wrong with the mango salad, pad-see-ew, panang curry with tofu, and the peanut sauce + fried tofu. Everything is delicious, but it is so popular, you will want to expect a wait time during rush hour (11:30-1 pm). This place has limited hours so be sure to check on Google!
This is not just a pastry place. Every single thing I have tried from there has wowed me - Austin.
