Although we have known each other for quite some time, we had never talked. I found him incredibly attractive, and charming but was too nervous to make the first move. After lots of convincing from friends, I finally mustered up the courage to slide into his DM's! We talked online for quite sometime until deciding to meet one evening in December 2013. We met to grab a snack from the newly opened (at the time) Nutella Cafe. We both didn't think much of it. When we got there, we accidentally walked into the wrong place, a sushi restaurant. "Why not just have some dinner before heading to the Nutella cafe?", he suggested. Little did he know, I could never say no to some sushi! After having a spontaneous dinner date followed by some Nutella goodies, he suggested we drive over to a beautiful location in Chicago. He wouldn't say where we were going, and me being the nervous wreck I am, I could not stop panicking! While driving to this "surprise destination", he told me was a good singer. I didn't believe him so I asked he sing a song. Lo and behold, he began to sing my favorite song, "Pehli Nazar Mein" by Atif Aslam. As he was singing, he took the exit into Adler Planetarium. I was shook! I could not stop wondering how he knew - This was my favorite place! After that night, we talked for hours and days straight. And just like that, our love story began. Who knew it would all start with the first smear out of a Nutella jar!

We went back to the Adler Planetarium for what he called a "work party". Before going inside, we decided to get a glimpse of the lake and skyline. As we walked down the stairs to the lake, I heard Pehli Nazar Mein, the song he sung to me on our first date, playing in the distance. I looked over and saw our friends and family chronologically holding up giant pictures of precious moments of our 4 year long journey together! When we got near the end of the timeline, marking our most recent Muu Meetha ceremony, that's when I knew! When the music died down, I looked over and he was down on one knee. I shouted "YES," and we were engaged. We are so excited to celebrate this new chapter in our love story with all our loved ones. See you in Downer's Grove!
