Our Story

Our story began in the House of God. On December 24, 2022, Amanda was serving on the Welcome Ministry at KFT Church when Isaac walked through the doors with his close friend Portia. Although they aren't biological siblings, they have always referred to each other as brother and sister. Portia was already a member of KFT and had been encouraging Isaac for quite some time to come and visit. As part of the Welcome Ministry, Amanda's role was to connect with guests and new members, making sure they felt welcomed and supported. So, after service, she introduced herself to Isaac and welcomed him to the church. Over the next several months, Amanda and Isaac developed a friendship. They saw each other regularly at church, spent time in fellowship, and gradually got to know one another better. What neither of them fully realized at the time was that some of their closest friends were already rooting for them. Portia was one of the biggest supporters of Amanda and Isaac being together. Throughout their friendship, she would encourage Isaac and often remind him of the qualities she saw in Amanda. At the same time, Kwaku, who is now one of Isaac's groomsmen, was also quietly planting seeds on both sides—sharing great things about Isaac with Amanda and encouraging Isaac to take a closer look at Amanda. Looking back now, it's funny to see how many people seemed to know what God was doing before we did! As their friendship grew, so did their feelings for one another. In 2024, they decided to take the next step and officially begin their relationship. During that time, Isaac would often talk about the type of woman he hoped to marry, and many of those qualities sounded very familiar to Amanda. Deep down, she had a feeling he might be talking about her, but she never asked. As their relationship continued to grow, Isaac made Amanda a promise: that before the end of 2025, she would become his fiancée. Amanda wasn't completely convinced, but Isaac kept his word. On November 27, 2025, Isaac proposed, and Amanda happily said yes. Now, by God's grace, we're planning our wedding and preparing to begin our next chapter together as husband and wife. One of the biggest lessons our story has taught us is to trust God's timing. Amanda desired marriage but didn't know when it would happen. Isaac wasn't focused on finding a wife when he first came to KFT. Yet God had a plan all along and brought us together in His perfect timing. Our story is also a reminder to serve faithfully wherever God places you. What started as a simple introduction through Amanda's service on the Welcome Ministry became the very connection God used to bring us together. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that God's plans are always greater than our own. Sometimes the blessing you're praying for is connected to your obedience, your service, and simply being where God has called you to be.
