For our guests visiting from the United States, we recommended hiring a shuttle service or renting a car in Tijuana. Please visit the following link with more information about shuttle services: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bJl1OxDMxmJsL6EN98B61QQSQ2DBymMki6qAYmYSsXQ/edit?usp=sharing Also, here is a video explaining how to cross the border by foot via the PedWest border crossing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3ssKhDLNho
We recommend renting a car in Tijuana or hiring a shuttle service to Valle de Guadalupe. Please visit the following link with more information about shuttle services:
Time Your Border Crossing The Valle de Guadalupe is close to SD, but crossing back into the US can involve long lines. Aim for off hours: Many Tijuana residents commute to San Diego for work in the morning and head back to during the evening rush hour. On the weekends, the rush hours operate in the reverse. Check the US Customs Site: The US Customs and Border Site offers real-time updates on wait times (San Ysidro and Otay are SD's crossing points) https://www.garitacenter.com/ https://bwt.cbp.gov/ *These links will tell you if it's faster to cross by car or via pedestrian way Take the Ready Lane: Riders with select identification—including passport cards, Global Entry cards, and Sentri passes—may use the Ready Lanes, which are slightly faster than the general lanes. Standard US passports do not comply. Sentri Lane: The fastest option, however, all passengers in one vehicle must have Sentri.
