Alberto’s Side

White skinned beauty queen

My whole life I’ve witnessed people fall in and out of love, including a fair share of my own heart breaks so I was skeptical about what I was going to get myself into. It was 2013 when an associate at Dodgers Stadium convinced me that a white skinned beauty queen kept looking deeply at my good looks from a distance. I didn’t want to believe it. So I had to find out for myself and somehow I gained the courage to walk up and ask her out. At first, she was hesitant when I proposed our first date. Thank God she said yes because that’s when I witnessed the funniest thing I have seen in the history of first dates and that is when Lourdes broke her sandal. You can tell she was ready to quit the date, but I reassured her and said things happen and I have one for you to borrow. She continued the night like a champ and at the end she had the coolest walk. Walking back to my car after saying our goodbyes, I knew I wanted to see her again. Ten years have flown by and we’re finally going to share with friends and family the most important day of our lives. I think back and reminisce about that night from time to time. To this day, I mark it down as the best night of my life. I wonder sometimes if our lives would be different if Lourdes didn't break her sandal that night?

Lourdes’ side

The guy who stared at me

I was working at right field pavilion at Dodgers, busy serving clients, when I felt a stare. I looked up and noticed Alberto looking at me. I was so embarrassed because I didn’t know why he was staring at me. He walked over to me and asked “What are your plans for tonight?” I thought, “Dang, not even a hello or what’s your name,” or at least I don’t remember if he did ask because I was so nervous. So I answered, “ Nothing, going home to study.” That’s when he asked me more about me and we had a nice first conversation. Alberto then asked me for my number. Feeling all kinds of mixed emotions, I gave him my number. I think I waited about a day before texting him. We agreed on our first date. Ten years later, we’re finally getting married! I am so thankful Alberto stared at me on that one work day.
