Question

You're Getting Married at the Children's Museum?

Answer

Yes we are! We love it and the people who make it run so smoothly! We are very excited to be their very first wedding! If you're feeling particularly generous, you can bring extra craft supplies, bottle caps, or corks you have laying around your house to donate to Arts and Parts (the museum's art space)! The children who visit and the museum staff will appreciate it so much!

Question

Is this going to be a traditional wedding?

Answer

Yes and no. Our joke has always been that we don't do anything normally. We will have a traditional ceremony (walking down the aisle, vows, "I do", etc.), but the reception part of the evening will be more on the casual side! With three floors to explore (and toys to play with), buffet-style barbecue dinner with open seating spread throughout the building, and a few nerdy touches, this probably couldn't be counted as "traditional"! Be prepared to have fun!

Question

What is the menu?

Answer

We are having City Barbecue cater the wedding! Hopefully, there is something you'll enjoy on the menu, but if not, feel free to bring something for yourself. We do not want anyone going hungry! The menu is: Salad (Ranch and Italian dressing available) Macaroni and Cheese Corn Pudding Smoked Turkey (buns and BBQ sauce available) Smoked Sausage (BBQ sauce available) White Cake Juice boxes for the kiddos and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Yes! It will be an open bar with beer and wine! Drinks are on us, but the hangover will be on you! Please make a plan for getting home safely! Non-alcoholic beverages will be available as well!

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

There is plenty of free onsite parking available.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are asking for at least business casual, but please wear what you feel comfortable in (no jeans, please)! We will be dancing and having fun. We recommend bringing a jacket or sweater as the ceremony is outside and the building is old, so the temperature may not remain consistent from room to room. There is a coat room for you to keep your things!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

If your invitation says "The {Last Name} Family", that includes your kiddos! The venue is, of course, completely child-friendly and you are all encouraged to play, kids or grown-up kids! We love your kiddos but do understand that you may want a date night, so bringing your kids is up to you! Please RSVP appropriately for those attending.
